This is a 21+ group, if you're caught lying about your age you will be removed from the preserver/server ASAP and will not be allowed to rejoin! I don't care if you're 20 and about to turn 21, if you're not 21 or over, please don't apply! I plan to have openings every few months and will always keep the preserver open!

This group allows NSFW content and Gore, if you're joining while sensitive to this, please let me know and I'll keep the channels hidden from you.

NSFW content and Gore must be kept in their respective channels! If you are caught posting such content in the wrong channel frequently you will receive a strike (receive 3 of these and you will be kicked and not allowed back in).

Welcome to Grimm Falls - Est. in 1668

"If someone would have said that monsters would have needed to go into hiding over a couple hundred of years ago, I'm sure you would have received an eyeroll or perhaps been eaten. However, as the years passed, how were monsters supposed to know that humans would get smarter? Learning ways to hunt them down and take them out. That they'd need to hide away as if they never existed? Once facts becoming 'Legends' and 'Bed Time Stories' to scare naughty children into behaving.""I guess that's why my creator helped find this town so many years ago. At least, the plaque in the square says 1668. I wasn't created till around the 1800's so I don't know the full story, just what he'd say to me as I sat upon my pole in the field to keep the crows away. Oh, how he'd speak of the good old days. When humans feared going out at night in fear of them. That they'd lock their doors and windows in fear of vampires, witches, and whatever else monster may be hungry that evening.""Sadly, as I said, that was years ago. Now they mock us. Dressing up in 'Halloween Costumes' to fill themselves with free candy, and even PAY to get scared! Sure we didn't do the first part, but we did the last part for free without issue!"

"I remember when I'd sneak off my perch to wander around the town as my creator aged. Finding it hard to even make sure I was doing my job as he withered away. For years I watched as monsters happily went about their lives, living amongst each other. Safe, not a care in the world if a human were to find us. So why did it change? But, there appeared to be more to agree with him than expected. Because soon enough, almost all the youth of Grimm Falls had moved away. Instead, they merged with the outside world, with the humans. I hope they found happiness. But I knew I never would. Instead, I remained on my perch. Remained long after my creator had passed, and as the residents dwindled down."

I'd listen to her talk about what she'd witnessed all her years of living. How lively the docks had once been, the children that would splash around in the water. How she and her sisters would steal clothing that would be drying out in the village near the beach. But she also spoke to me about how she'd started to fall in love with the land. That she wished to see the roads once again filled with monsters like us. It's hard to see a good movie out in the real world for a monster. All the odd looks you'd get when you'd cheer when the monster finally caught the human that tormented them throughout the 80 something minute run time. Well now you can cuddle up with a loved one, hangout with some friends, or even rest by yourself as you enjoy a feature film! Though our concession snacks aren't the freshest besides the popcorn, we pride ourself in providing you with a fairly clean movie watching experience!

FAQ

Will humans be allowed to join?No, This is meant to be a safe haven for monsters. If your OC was adopted by a human family, has close human friends or a human partner then they need to meet outside the town or wait till Halloween.

If humans aren’t allowed, how do witches and warlocks work?Witches and warlocks are born with magical powers which make themselves known between ages 8-13. Though some are late bloomers and aren’t able to start using magic till they’re 16! Usually witches and warlocks come from a family of such, but on very rare occasions will a witch or warlock come from an all human family.

Can me and my friend make our OCs siblings/related?Yes! Just be aware that one of you may not get in and they will have to wait till the next opening to try again! Also, please let me know before hand if you're planning to do this!

Is there a certain monster that’s off limits?Nope! Only thing I ask is if you want to make a hybrid to speak to me first as they’re rare. And if you plan to use a monster that’s part of a culture that’s not your own, please do research! But besides that have fun with your monster of choice! I’m not wanting half the group to go the route of vampires, witches, and werewolves!

How many OCs am I allowed?At the moment you have a free character slot and a free NPC slot. The NPC slot is if your OC wants to bring a child that they have, a parent, etc. However you will be able to purchase another OC slot and NPC slot later.

Do I need to know how to draw?No, you can commission art with credit to the artist, or try your best, I’m not choosing who gets in based off art skills. NO AI ALLOWED! AI art gets you automatically kicked from the preserver/main server!

If gore is allowed, how much can I add to my OC's visual app?Things such as blood, bones, rotting skin, etc is allowed, but please don't go overboard as some people may be sensitive to such graphic art. If you wish to draw your OC more gruesome then I recommend waiting and posting in the respective channel on the main server.

What do you look for when looking at applications?To put it simply, effort. I want a well thought out character that has a reason for wanting to move to Grimm Falls. Not saying your character can’t be having a crisis and decide to move at random, but I’m not wanting multiple applicants with abandoned OCs, or who were abused by a step parent or something. I understand some characters come from abusive/neglectful homes! I just don’t want to read 10+ applications that are basically the same story. I also look for people active within the server!

Is there a limit to app checks?Yes, you are allowed 2 app checks! When the preserver is open you can submit your app in the app check channel and I’ll DM you personally with what I feel needs to be fixed! I will try to give constructive criticism as best as I can! If you fail both of these, or submit an app without an app check and it doesn’t pass, you cannot resubmit for 2 weeks.

Can I DM you/post in the preserver and show you drawn out character concepts before I draw my OC?Yes! This is the best way to prevent any issues and can get my confirmation that the design will be okay if you believe something could be an issue!

How active do I have to be within the group?This is a very chill and laid back group, and I understand people have stuff going on in their lives! There will be activity checks every 3 months. Between these 3 months you must submit some form of art (Completed drawing, sketch, etc), written work, or RP. Within the 3 months if I see you submit any of these in the completed channel you will be safe.

When does the group take place?The group takes place in modern times, so our current year! The town is inspired by Vermont in the fall and Sleepy Hollow in Upstate NY.

How do our OCs find the town?The towns road only shows itself to monsters when they’re near! A bus will pick them up at the proper stop but if they have a car they can drive on in! And if they want the exercise, well, hope you have your walking shoes or some wings…

Have humans stumbled in before?Nope! The town is protected by a magical barrier that Mayor Jack keeps up! Humans that get lost on back roads or in the woods magically get redirected. The only time the barrier fades is on Halloween when humans can visit for one night, however they cannot stay the night. Humans believe that the town just simply goes all out for Halloween and is able to make a good bit of money due to the once a year tourism! They just find it odd that it’s hidden so well, because they could’ve sworn the road was near the old rest area?

Where does my OC live when they move to town?There are three housing options! Leviathan Village, Full Moon Acres, and Gravediggers Hollow! Although in all locations, the housing is a bit dated, there’s nothing a little TLC can’t fix!

How does my OC get around?There are bus stations and your OC is allowed to have a car and/or bike!
